Wesley's 4-Month Doctor Visit (+ misc. pictures)

Wesley is 4 months old!  He did great with his 2 shots (plus oral rotavirus vaccine) and is growing well.  The doctor said he can try some rice cereal anytime now.

His stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 14 oz (50-75th percentile)
Height: 25.5 inches (50-75th percentile)
Head circumference: 42.8 cm (70-90th percentile)

Hitting the pool on Memorial Day

We checked out the new community center pool today.  JJ had lots of fun playing in the water features.  He was a little bummed out that he couldn't go down the slide (it'll be awhile before he's 48 inches tall) but he still had a good time.  Wesley donned a bathing suit for the first time and dipped his feet into the pool but mostly hung out in the shade.

The Merry Month of May

Wesley enjoys bath time and has started to do lots of kicking and flailing while he bathes.

Daddy brought home a super tasty ice cream cake for my birthday.  JJ approved.

My parents had us over on May 6 for a birthday lunch for me!  Yum.  

Dessert was a decadent chocolate peanut butter cheesecake.

On my actual birthday, Andy and I went out to dinner and a quiz.  I had a delicious Tres Leches cake for dessert at 400 Rabbits.

Delivery of 6 cubic yards of woodchips for the new playset.  JJ, who is obsessed with trucks, was napping when the woodchips were delivered, so I had to snap some pictures for him.

Wesley's 2-Month Pediatrician Visit

Wes never fails to do something interesting during his weigh-in at the doctor's office.  Today it was shooting a stream of urine onto his own face while on the scale - impressive!  He was a very good boy otherwise.  The pediatrician remarked again on his strong head and neck control and was amazed at how well he focuses and tracks with his eyes.  Nice going, superstar!

Wesley weighs 13 lbs 7 oz (90th percentile), is 24 inches long (90th percentile) and has a head circumference of 40.8 cm (95th percentile).  Yup, he's a whopper!  Compare to JJ's 2-month stats and you'll see that Wes has almost 2 pounds on him.

Wes received 3 shots and the oral rotavirus vaccine.  He recovered from the needle pain quickly, like a real champ.

Easter 2012

You might say we had an egg-cellent Easter weekend.  On Friday JJ and I dyed some eggs, though I was too busy making sure our entire kitchen didn't end up looking like an Easter egg to get any good pictures.

Saturday we all - and Grandma, too - went to the neighborhood egg hunt.  JJ gathered the allotted dozen eggs and also fit in a few trips down the slide and some playtime on the fire truck.  No picture with the Easter bunny this year due to the long line and our hungry baby.

Grandma, JJ and I went to church on Easter Sunday, and then everyone met up at Uncle E and Aunt Jess's house for a delicious lunch.  The kiddies received some fun-packed Easter baskets (or buckets, actually)!

At home we had a lazy afternoon, and JJ did his third egg hunt in the backyard.  This dude loves searching for eggs!
